PETALING JAYA: Federation of Malaysian Consumers Association (Fomca) president N Marimuthu has been re-elected as Consumers International (CI) president for a second term at the annual general meeting held in Nairobi, Kenya, yesterday.

Fomca secretary-general T Saravanan, in a statement today, said Marimuthu will assume his duties as CI president for the next four years.

Marimuthu was first elected as president of the organisation in 2019.

CI serves as the umbrella body for consumer organisations worldwide with a membership of 200 organisations in over 100 countries, aiming to empower and champion the rights of consumers everywhere.

Marimuthu currently serves as the chairman of the Board of the National Consumer Complaints Centre.
