Kaji SOP perniagaan 'online' dari rumah

KERAJAAN Terengganu sedang merangka satu prosedur operasi standard (SOP) untuk peniaga yang menjalankan perniagaan secara dalam talian di rumah bagi memastikan aspek kebersihan dipatuhi.

Exco Kerajaan Tempatan, Perumahan, Kesihatan dan Alam Sekitar negeri, Dr Alias Razak berkata, kajian itu akan merangkumi suntikan tifoid dan lesen perniagaan seperti pemilik premis yang lain.

Katanya, trend perniagaan mula berubah dengan kewujudan peniaga secara dalam talian terutama yang mengendalikan perniagaan di rumah.

"Perniagaan secara dalam talian ini terutama di rumah sukar dikawal terutama dalam aspek kebersihan ini, jadi kita sudah berbincang dengan Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Terengganu (JKNT) untuk sediakan satu SOP baharu berhubung perkara ini.

"Kita sedang menyiapkan satu SOP bagaimana penyediaan makanan di rumah bagi peniaga yang tidak ada premis perniagaan untuk memastikan makanan disediakan dengan selamat," katanya.

Dr Alias berkata, kajian berhubung perkara itu perlu diteliti dengan sebaik mungkin kerana ia membabitkan pelbagai aspek sebelum ia boleh dikuat kuasa.

Katanya, pihaknya yakin hasil kajian itu akan diperoleh dalam masa terdekat bagi mengelak kejadian keracunan makanan berulang.

Kerugian akibat penipuan jualan pelitup muka cecah RM5.5 juta

POLIS Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) sudah membuka 572 kertas siasatan berkaitan penipuan penjualan pelitup muka membabitkan kerugian dianggarkan bernilai RM5.5 juta.

Menteri Kanan (Kluster Keselamatan) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob berkata, kertas siasatan itu dibuka dari 18 Mac hingga semalam.

Beliau berkata, kebanyakan kes penipuan ini membabitkan urusan jual beli dilakukan melalui Facebook (FB) dan aplikasi WhatsApp.

"Negeri yang mencatatkan kertas siasatan tertinggi adalah di Selangor sebanyak 122; dan masing-masing 68 di Johor serta Pulau Pinang.

"Daripada jumlah itu, PDRM sudah menahan 181 individu, dan 53 lagi sudah dituduh di mahkamah," katanya pada sidang media harian di Putrajaya, hari ini.

Sehubungan itu, Ismail Sabri mengingatkan orang ramai supaya berhati-hati ketika membuat pembelian melalui platform dalam talian.

"Elak dari berurusan di laman sesawang yang mencurigakan. Semak ulasan atau komen daripada pembeli lain sebelum membuat pembelian.

After ‘puding buih’ incident, MOH’s Food Safety and Quality Division wants to regulate home-based online food businesses

Home-based online food businesses that offer delivery services in Malaysia will soon be required to register with the Food Safety and Quality Division under the Ministry of Health (MOH).

"We are preparing a holistic exercise for the home-based industry that will cover regulations, registrations and special guidelines for home-based delivery," said the division's senior director Mohd Salim Hj Dulatti.

Mohd Salim added that the division is working towards regulating such home-based online food businesses so they can comply with official guidelines on food safety. Details about the regulations will be revealed by the Health Ministry on a later date.

LifestyleTech contacted to the Food Safety and Quality Division to inquire about guidelines and regulations for home-based online food businesses in Malaysia in light of the recent death of a 25-year-old woman in Terengganu who suffered from severe food poisoning after consuming 'puding buih' purchased online.

Water bill dilemma

FORUM Air Malaysia has received many complaints on bill hikes based on approximated calculation made by water supply operators.

Water bills more than double and some were up to 10 times as high for May as it comprised March and April bill adjustments.
In some cases, it was reported that customers who previously received bills around RM20 a month now received bills upwards of RM90 or even exceeding RM100.

Furthermore, many consumers in Selangor with monthly income of RM4,001 and above did not realise that they were not eligible for the 20 cubic meters of free water since March 1.

Based on the complaints received, account holders are burdened with this additional water charges.

The National Water Services Commission (SPAN) said generally, domestic consumers use more water than usual during the movement control order (MCO) as there are more daily activities at home.

Billing issues highlighted extensively through complaints in social media are not only due to bill estimations by Air Selangor but also seen in Negri Sembilan, Malacca, Pahang and Johor.

For almost two months, Malaysians were largely confined to their homes, thanks to the movement control order (MCO). Many were stuck between a rock and a hard place due to their eagerness to get back to work, fuelled by diminishing incomes and prolonged economic inactivity, conflicting with a fear of exposure to Covid-19 which has killed hundreds of thousands globally.

So, the residents of Klang Valley might have looked at their water bills between March and April and felt the low or nominal charges made their lives just a little easier in what was a tough time for many.

But, in the past couple of weeks, as the country has begun to ease into the less restrictive conditional MCO, and as new water bills have begun rolling out, some received a rude awakening. The latest bills did not just compensate for any prior low charges, but seemingly ballooned to triple, even quadruple, consumers’ usual amounts even before the lockdown.

Some might have looked at the new bills and raised the issue with Klang Valley’s sole water service provider – Air Selangor, thinking theirs were isolated cases. But a check on Air Selangor’s social media channels over the past week showed hundreds of grouses from people shocked by the sudden spike.

In many cases observed by Between The Lines (BTL), people who had bills of around RM20 a month previously now received bills upwards of RM90 or even exceeding RM100.

A slight spike in this month’s water bill was already anticipated. Up to February, Selangor allowed its residents, irrespective of economic status, to enjoy up to 20 cubic metres of free water. However, from March 1, the state was to begin enforcing its Darul Ehsan Water Scheme which would only accord free treated water for registered Selangor households with a monthly income of RM4,000 or less. The rest were to have been charged based on consumption, the minimum amount being RM6.

SHAH ALAM: Pelarasan bil TNB menggunakan kaedah prorata memastikan pengguna tidak akan terlebih caj, kata Pengerusi Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.

Jelasnya, kaedah itu juga telah disemak dan disahkan oleh Suruhanjaya Tenaga dan berdasarkan penggunaan sebenar elektrik setiap bulan.

Ujarnya, bil sebenar yang diberikan akan dibahagi sama rata untuk jumlah bulan sepanjang tempoh Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP).
Ujarnya, penggunaan bulanan itu adalah angka yang didarabkan dengan kadar blok tarif bagi setiap bulan.

"Ada sebahagian pengguna kediaman kami yang agak terkejut apabila menerima bil sebenar mereka yang lebih tinggi dari kebiasaan. Secara amnya sepanjang tempoh PKP, iaitu kira-kira 3 bulan sejak 18 Mac lalu, kadar penggunaan elektrik dalam sektor kediaman telah meningkat antara 20 hingga 50 peratus.

"Antara faktor yang mendorong kepada peningkatan terhadap sektor kediaman ini adalah kebanyakan rakyat Malaysia berada di rumah sepanjang hari memandangkan arahan untuk ‘stay at home’. Jadi sebahagian daripada kita bekerja dari rumah, anak-anak juga tidak hadir ke sekolah dan ini secara langsung menyebabkan penggunaan elektrik meningkat.

TNB tawar skim bayaran ansuran bil elektrik

SHAH ALAM - Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) menawarkan skim bayaran ansuran bulanan kepada pengguna domestiknya bagi bayaran bil elektrik mereka sepanjang tempoh Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) bermula Mac, April dan Mei.

Pengerusinya, Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid berkata, plan bayaran mudah itu diberikan secara automatik kepada 7.4 juta pengguna dengan tempoh bayaran selama enam bulan sehingga Disember 2020.

Menurutnya, inisiatif itu bertujuan mengurangkan beban pengguna yang terjejas ketika negara berdepan pandemik Covid-19 ketika ini.

“Begitupun selain bayaran ansuran bagi bil elektrik dalam tempoh tiga bulan itu, pengguna juga perlu membayar bil semasa mereka.

“Pengguna digalakkan untuk datang ke Kedai Tenaga atau menghubungi talian TNB Careline 1-300-85-5454 untuk memperincikan bil dan cara bayaran ansuran yang perlu dilakukan oleh mereka,” katanya.

Beliau berkata demikian pada sidang media selepas melawat Kedai Tenaga TNB di Shah Alam di sini hari ini.

Hadir sama, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif TNB, Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan dan Ketua Pegawai Runcit TNB, Ir Megat Jalaluddin Megat Hassan.

Pengguna Air Selangor marah bil naik tak munasabah

SELAIN marah harga barang keperluan naik sepanjang tempoh Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) sejak 18 Mac lalu, perasaan meluap-luap juga terbuku dalam hati pengguna air di Selangor, Kuala Lumpur dan Putrajaya.

Melihat komen-komen yang dipaparkan dalam Facebook Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd sejak seminggu lalu, perkara itu rasanya cukup serius dan perlu diatasi segera.

Kata seorang pengguna: “Sebelum ni bil RM6 hingga RM11 saja... sekali dapat mesej dan check kat App air Selangor RM256.86. Walhal PKP siang kosong semua kerja... tengok meter tak ada pula jalan laju... aniaya sungguh.”

Seorang lagi pengguna pula merungut: “Mula-mula saya ingat paip rumah bocor... biasa bil bulanan lebih kurang RM40/bulan. Bila bulan Mei terkejut beruk tengok bil sampai RM300! Giler bapak melampau... siap panggil dua kontraktor check tengok ingat paip bocor/pecah...mana nak cekau sampai RM300 nak bayar?”

Pada 20 Mei lalu, syarikat air itu telah mengeluarkan kenyataan bahawa pihaknya tidak membuat bacaan meter sepanjang PKP tetapi mengeluarkan bil anggaran sahaja.

Namun, penjelasan berkenaan tidak sedikit pun dapat menyelesaikan soalan pengguna: Mengapa bil air boleh naik terlalu tinggi sehingga tiga hingga empat kali ganda? Apakah logiknya bil air boleh mencecah sampai ratusan ringgit bagi sebuah keluarga yang biasa purata penggunaannya lebih kurang RM40 sebulan sahaja?

‘Puding buih’ food poisoning case due to use of expired eggs, says Terengganu exco

KUALA TERENGGANU, May 31 — A recent case of food poisoning involving 99 patients in Terengganu from the consumption of ‘puding buih’ has been found to be due to the use of expired eggs.

State Local Government, Housing, Health and Environment Committee chairman Dr Alias Razak said the trader involved had used eggs over two weeks past the expiry date when making the pudding.

“The Terengganu State Department of Health has taken action by shutting down the kitchen used by the puding buih trader for 14 days until June 7, in accordance with Section 18 (1) (d) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988,” he told reporters today.

The media recently reported that 99 people had suffered food poisoning after consuming the pudding on May 22, with some being admitted to public and private hospitals.

The 99 cases involved some 20 families, with 77 patients from Kuala Terengganu and another 22 from the Marang district.

Meanwhile, Dr Alias said the state government would conduct a detailed study on the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for small-scale food traders operating from the home to prevent such occurrences in the future.

Telur tamat tempoh punca kes keracunan puding buih

KUALA TERENGGANU: Telur tamat tempoh digunakan untuk mengadun puding buih, punca utama berlakunya kes keracunan makanan, Isnin lalu.

Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Kerajaan Tempatan, Perumahan, Kesihatan dan Alam Sekitar, Dr Alias Razak menjelaskan, keputusan sampel dilakukan Unit Keselamatan dan Kualiti Makanan Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah Kuala Terengganu mendapati, penggunaan telur tamat tempoh punca utama 99 orang menghadapi kes keracunan puding buih.

Bagaimanapun, Alias berkata, semua mangsa kes keracunan puding buih berada dalam keadaan stabil selepas menerima rawatan di Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ).

"Tindakan dilakukan Jabatan Kesihatan negeri Terengganu (JKNT) adalah menutup dapur premis untuk jualan puding buih mengikut Seksyen 18(1)(d) Akta Kawalan Penyakit Berjangkit 1988 selama 14 hari sehingga 7 Jun depan," katanya ketika pada sidang media khas di Bilik Gerakan Wisma Darul Iman, di sini, hari ini.

Yang turut hadir adalah Timbalan Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Kerajaan Tempatan, Perumahan, Kesihatan dan Alam Sekitar, Ahmad Shah Muhamed.
